About

I absolutely love building things. I started my journey into learning about tech as an intern in private equity. Eventually I moved over to being a prototyping architect for a Amazon, where I worked alongside hundreds of startups in the incubator program and helped them scale their product offerings. This included everything, from creating human trafficking-detecting web scraping bots for NGOs, to low-latency cloud gaming solutions for emerging companies. While it's been a blast putting together new solutions and wading through ambiguity, I craved the chance to sink my teeth into a singular problem and turn it inside out. That drive led me to become a product manager in emerging technologies at Microsoft. Right now, I'm working on my own start-up, BioFringe! A cutting-edge, AI-driven platform that enables energy producers to forecast their production and maximize output using their own treasure troves of data. Learn more

My Preferences For Picking Companies

I did my undergrad and my Masters in Computer Science and Physics. I’ve been deeply passionate about anything that exists at the intercept of these two fields for as long as I can remember. At university, I extensively researched quantum machine learning applications for maximising bio-methane output. I went on to commercialise this work and start my own company called BioFringe, which aims at leveraging novel machine learning solutions in the renewable energy domain. So it should come as no surprise to you that a significant chunk of articles I have written about companies I find interesting are in the sustainability domain, or companies that are in the deep-tech domain, building solutions that are ‘physics’ oriented, like nuclear energy, semiconductors, sensors, or building solutions at the bleeding edge of technology- machine learning, quantum computing, vector databases, you name it. I look for a select number of factors when considering companies that can have a large impact-

  • What Industry do they exist in?
  • What do they do in that industry that I find meaningful?
  • Is the market they aim to address growing?
  • Do they have the ability to be a leader in this growing market?
  • What is the technology that they are building?
  • How are they leveraging that technology to be an excellent product for their customers?
  • Is the team that built the company capable enough to fulfil their stated mission?
  • What is the competitive landscape?

I have found that while these questions seem fairly obvious, obtaining a detailed answer for each of these items usually gives me a good idea about what a company represents and what they hope to achieve. With this blog, I aim to sure what little I can about new ventures to you.
